Doctoral Student
Ashley Moo-Choy is a PhD student with affiliations with the Department of Anthropology and Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics at the University of Toronto. Her research currently focuses on improving the understanding of shared genetic etiology between mental health disorders.
Her current projects explore the sex-specific relationships between PTSD and MDD. In the future, she plans to work in the genetic associations between various mental health diagnoses resulting from acute trauma.
She previously completed an MSc in forensic genetics at the University of Toronto where she completed several projects in DNA transfer and DNA typing. While her work is now in the realm of psychiatric genetics, she remains interested in forensic genetics work, and continues to work on projects in this field.
